Dubai prepares for historic India-Pakistan Asia Cup 2025 final showdown

DUBAI – Dubai International Cricket Stadium is set to host one of the most anticipated cricket clashes in recent memory when India and Pakistan contest the Asia Cup 2025 final on Sunday.
The match, scheduled to begin at 18:30 local time, marks the first time the arch-rivals have faced off in the final of the regional tournament.
The Dubai Events Security Committee (ESC) has confirmed that all preparations are complete to secure the fixture. Authorities have urged fans to embrace sportsmanship, respect stadium rules and reflect Dubai’s reputation for hosting world-class sporting events. Dubai Police units across all specialisations have been deployed, with strict instructions to deal firmly with any breach of stadium security.
Stadium rules
Ticket-holders are advised to arrive at least three hours before kick-off, as large crowds are expected around the venue. Only one entry per valid ticket will be allowed, with no re-entry permitted. Fans must follow stewards’ directions, observe posted signage and park only in designated areas.
A detailed list of prohibited items has been released, including fireworks, flares, laser pointers, sharp objects, remote-controlled devices, large umbrellas, unauthorised photography rigs, and any banners or signs not approved by organisers.
Pets, bicycles, scooters, skateboards, glass items, and acts that disrupt order or promote hate will also be barred.
Ticket details
Despite high demand, tickets remain available in several categories through PlatinumList. General admission prices start from Dh350, while children’s tickets are available from Dh25. Premium seats cost Dh750, with a three-for-two promotion priced at Dh1,500. Pavilion east tickets are Dh900, also available under the same promotion at Dh1,800 for three.
Hospitality packages include platinum passes from Dh1,500, a grand lounge option at Dh3,500, boundary lounge access from Dh6,000, and VIP suite seats priced at Dh11,000. The most exclusive Sky Box package costs Dh16,000 for two people or Dh32,000 for four. Organisers have confirmed that some upper tier and hospitality passes remain available, though most general east lower tickets are already sold out.
Road to Asia Cup Final
India, led by Suryakumar Yadav, reached the final unbeaten after victories over Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Pakistan. Their Super Fours campaign concluded with a dramatic Super Over win against Sri Lanka. Opener Abhishek Sharma has been the standout performer, amassing 309 runs in six matches – a new record for the highest tally in a single edition of the T20 Asia Cup, surpassing Mohammad Rizwan’s 281 in 2022. Sharma’s explosive half-centuries in all three Super Four games underlined his importance at the top of the order.
However, concerns linger over the fitness of Sharma, Tilak Varma and all-rounder Hardik Pandya, with the Indian bowling coach confirming that final fitness checks will be conducted before the match. Pandya left the field against Sri Lanka with a hamstring issue, while Sharma also spent extended time off the field in the same game.
Pakistan booked their place in the decider by edging past Bangladesh by 11 runs. Their campaign included victories over Sri Lanka and Afghanistan, though both group and Super Four defeats came against India. Captain Salman Agha will hope Shaheen Shah Afridi and Haris Rauf can provide early breakthroughs to unsettle India’s powerful batting order.

The final comes amid heightened tensions between the teams. Both group and Super Four encounters saw players skip customary post-match handshakes. Suryakumar Yadav declined to shake hands with Salman Agha in their first meeting, while both captains avoided handshakes at the toss in their second clash. Players from both sides have already been fined by the International Cricket Council for breaches of the Code of Conduct, including Haris Rauf and Sahibzada Farhan of Pakistan, and Yadav himself.
